Grounding and Growing

We are collectively inundated with increasingly dire predictions of the future. It is entirely natural to have a strong response to the information coming our way - I feel it myself! I value the space therapy provides to pause amid chaos, tune into your internal rhythms and build curiosity for the signals and symptoms we notice together.

My decision to become a therapist emerged during my undergraduate years in Santa Cruz, California, where I began noticing the lessons nature offers humanity.

Living in the redwoods taught me about deep time, patience, grounding and presence - a critical learning experience I had always struggled with growing up in a military family moving every 2-3 years (that taught me other lessons about endings and beginnings). The interconnectedness of life in the forest was undeniable the closer I looked, as was the recognition of my place within this network: I am nature/we are nature. As a lifelong friend of the ocean, I hold its teachings close as it helps me feel vital, present to my dream world and in touch with the vastness of life on our planet.

My commitment to supporting you in my role as therapist is strengthened by these lessons from the natural world that deepen the level of presence, care and perspective I bring to my work.

In my free time, I love playing in the garden with my family, baking, studying herbal medicine and spending time near the ocean.

I am licensed in both Oregon and Washington with a Master’s degree in Community Mental Health and Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies.

I have received additional training in the following modalities:

  • Jungian therapy and dream work

  • Ecopsychology

  • Processwork

  • Internal Family Systems and Parts Work

  • Mentalization Based Therapy

  • Group consultation and trainings on relationships with Esther Perel
